The little square on the angle means that the entire angle is 90 degrees

The larger angle is made up of two angles of measure 'x - 18' and 'x'

Let's put that into an equation form:

     (x - 18) + (x) = 90

        2x - 18 = 90

           2x = 108

            x  = 54

So x = 54
