10 squared minus 8 squared.

=36

square root 36= 6

a² + b² = c² ⇒
a² + 8² = 10² ⇒
a² = 10² - 8² ⇒
a² = 100 - 64⇒
a² = 36 ⇒
a = √36⇒
a = 6
