we are given

[tex] y= x^2 + 6x - 5 [/tex]

Firstly ,we can find equation in vertex form

so, we will complete x square

[tex] y= x^2 + 6x+3^2-3^2 - 5 [/tex]

[tex] y= (x+3)^2-3^2 - 5 [/tex]

[tex] y= (x+3)^2-14 [/tex]

now, we can compare it with vertex form of equation

[tex] y= (x-h)^2+k [/tex]

we can find h and k

[tex] h=-3 , k=-14 [/tex]

so, vertex is

[tex] (h,k)=(-3,-14) [/tex].............Answer
