Each of the 12 sides of the cross is 15cm. What is the area of the cross?

If each of the 12 sides of the cross = 15 cm.

The cross would then be made up of 5 squares formed together. One at each of the four corners and one at the central making 5.

Area of one square = 15 * 15 = 225 cm²

The five = 5 * 225 = 1125 cm²
